Bio

Matthew Hoggatt serves as an Instructor in the School of Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Security at USM鈥檚 Gulf Park Campus. Prior to joining the faculty at USM, Matthew worked for three years at 吃瓜头条 Gulf Coast Community College as a criminal justice instructor and program coordinator. Prior to working in higher education, Matthew served for over twenty years as a full-time law enforcement officer along the 吃瓜头条 Gulf Coast, where he worked in numerous positions including patrol, community policing, and felony investigations. Matthew volunteers as a Team ADAM Consultant for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as a consultant for the DNA Doe Project, a non profit organization which uses investigative genetic genealogy to identify previously unidentified human remains. Matthew earned a BA degree from USM as part of the Complete to Compete (C2C) program in 2018, and a Master鈥檚 in Criminal Justice from William Carey University in 2020.
