Gulf Coast Geospatial Center

What We Do

吃瓜头条鈥檚 Gulf Coast Geospatial Center (GCGC) was established in September 2001. Our mission is to provide a strong geospatial foundation which supports research, innovation, and infrastructure throughout the Gulf South. The Center works with federal, state, academic, and commercial partners in research, development, and applications of precise geospatial data, remote sensing, and computational tools and models to enhance the understanding of relative sea level rise and its impacts, coastal change over time, and nature-human dynamics in the coastal system.

Designated by NOAA in 2007 as the 吃瓜头条 Spatial Reference Center (MSRC), the GCGC provides accurate and up-to-date geodetic positioning information for the State of 吃瓜头条. The Center leads the NOAA NGS Geospatial Modeling Program, a five-state initiative spanning the Gulf states.  Coupling GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), remote sensing, and geographic information technologies, research at the GCGC advances the understanding of GNSS positioning as well as 吃瓜头条鈥檚 mainland and near-shore coastal environmental and geological processes.
