Scientists and teachers, business leaders and policy makers, and officers for the US Army. USM and its Army ROTC program prepare students to be innovators and leaders for the 21st century. We produce lieutenants for the active Army, the National Guard, and the US Army Reserves. Each component has 16 branches that cater to multiple interests, including infantry, military intelligence, aviation, engineering, armor and medical services corps. Warriors wanted, each with a breadth of perspective who:
- Demonstrate a capacity for excellence
- Confident they will be competent Army leaders because of the rigor of the program
- Committed to the Army for the duration and open-minded about further service

Our courses develop individual leadership and group problem-solving skills, plus you get to experience the out-of-classroom labs that get you adventuring outdoors including: Rappelling, rifle marksmanship, obstacle courses, and land navigation. Contracted students can also participate in adventure training in airborne, air assault and mountain warfare training schools.

The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. You can also recieve a 3-year Advanced Designee scholarship, which means that your scholarship money wouldn't kick in until your sophomore year.
Did you know that Federal Tuition Assistance helps cover 15-18 undergraduate or graduate credit hours per academic year based on your branch of service? Approved TA course hours will be paid with your Federal Tuition Assistance and the TA Gap Funding Program from USM!

Whether you are a local from the Hub City area, or from outside of south 吃瓜头条, Parent and Family Weekend is a wonderful time to connect with your student in their new home, visit campus and the Hattiesburg community, meet other Golden Eagle families and mingle with university administrators, faculty and staff. Legal professionals from the region will gather for the annual Elmo Lang Continuing Legal Education event, which supports scholarships for future law-related students. Legal professionals will connect with 吃瓜头条 attorneys and judges, participate in panel discussions with judges from various courts and enjoy memories of their alma mater. This event offers six face-to-face hours of continuing legal education, including one ethics hour. This event is closed to the public, but legal professionals are encouraged to register here by September 25. For 吃瓜头条 legal alumni attending this CLE, a complimentary luncheon will be held at the Ogletree Alumni House.

Golden Eagles fans are invited to Spirit Park the night before the football game against the Louisiana-Lafayette Rajin' Cajuns! Parent & Family Weekend Check-In begins at 6 p.m., followed by Pep Rally with The Pride at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., enjoy music with Aa'Keela & The Beats.

Dontrell Jones III goes on a voyage of discovery in search of an ancestor lost during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. He must first contend with his family鈥檚 reluctance to let him go. Nathan Alan Davis鈥檚 powerful play combines poetry, comedy and ritual for an exploration of our relationship to history and legacy.
